Simply Coffie is a two-story mixed-use development located in the Heights neighborhood of Houston. The project combines a street-level specialty coffee shop with an owner’s residential suite above, creating an efficient and context-responsive urban infill solution.

The design approach emphasizes clarity, craft, and a warm modern aesthetic. The café level is organized as an open, light-filled volume that maximizes transparency to the street, drawing patrons into a calm, minimalist environment centered around the bar and its single-origin coffee program. Large windows, controlled glazing proportions, and natural materials create a bright, welcoming interior while maintaining energy efficiency within Houston’s climate.

Above the café, the owner’s suite is designed as a compact yet refined residential retreat. The upper level incorporates a private entry, efficient circulation, and a carefully composed mix of natural light, privacy, and acoustic separation from the commercial space below. The architecture balances the needs of a quiet living environment with the operational demands of a daily-use café.
