Our work is driven by the belief that thoughtful design can improve how people experience their daily lives, strengthen their connection to place, and create lasting value for generations.
Our Inspiration
Colorado’s landscape inspires every space we design—from the warmth of natural materials to the way daylight shifts across a room. Our goal is to create homes that feel deeply rooted in their surroundings, blurring the line between indoors and out while capturing the calm, restorative quality of the mountain environment.

Alec Oshner

Alec Oshner, Founder & Principal Architect of AJO Architects, specializes in high-end custom residential and multifamily design. With nearly a decade of experience, he brings a collaborative, client-focused approach to every project—creating thoughtful, functional spaces that elevate everyday living.
Alec’s passion for architecture began in Quincy, Illinois, where he spent countless hours building with Lincoln Logs, Legos, and anything else he could find. Inspired by his father, a former draftsman, he developed a love for hand drawing before discovering architecture in a high school drafting class. Recreating his childhood home in a 3-D software for a class project sparked his lifelong fascination with design.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University, studied abroad in Rome, and commissioned as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. Over the years, Alec has contributed to more than 75 projects across civilian and military sectors spanning over 6 countries. He's worked with award-winning firms in Houston and Denver on custom homes, multi-family developments, restaurants, and aerospace facilities.
Alec founded AJO Architects to bring personalized, innovative design solutions to his clients’ homes. His philosophy blends creativity, functionality, and timeless simplicity—ensuring each project reflects his clients’ vision and lifestyle.
Outside the studio, Alec enjoys traveling with his family, hiking and snowboarding in the mountains, golfing, and hitting the pickleball courts.
